Freddie King - Woman Across the River

Es uno de mis discos favoritos de blues sin duda, Si pudiera le daría 10 estrellas! 

Trae de todo vocales grasosas, guitar con steel-pick, y una buena banda detras de el master. Este disco y el "Texas Cannonball" son mis discos favoritos de Freddie King, pero creo que este se la lleva por ser un poco mas rock-blues, la canción Woman Across the River fue tocada recientemente por los Allman Brothers (en Hitting The Note), haciendo un trabajo soberbio, pero esta es la original. Freddie King es el blues en persona, Su influencia se puede notar en muchos músicos desde Gilmore, Texas; hasta pasando el Atlántico en tornamesas de Eric Clapton, Paul Kossoff, Mick Taylor y Peter Green, ahí nadamas, para que sepan quien es este gran guitarrista. This is one of my all time favorite Blues albums without a doubt. If i could, i would give this one 10 stars also!!
It has everything, gritty vocals, steel-picked guitar notes that will cut you in half, and a tight backing band. This album and "Texas Cannonball" are my fave Freddie King albums and the feel is similar on both, although this one has a slight edge and this could be because the choice of songs is stronger on this c.d..
"Woman Across The River' was covered recently by The Allman Bros(on Hitting The Note) they did a superb job also, but here is the original....Percy Mayfields song "Danger Zone" is handled exquisitely by Freddie and the blues shuffles "Yonder Wall" and "I'm Ready' just leave you breathless!
Whenever i remember seeing Freddie perform live, even today, the hairs on my head tend to stand on edge...he was a rivetting powerhouse of a man, standing 6 feet 6 inches tall. To me Freddie King WAS the meaning of Electric Blues! Personified!
His influence spread far and wide from Gilmore,Texas across the Atlantic to the turntables of Eric Clapton , Paul Kossoff, Mick Taylor & Peter Green.

Freddie King - Burglar

Freddie King también conocido como Freddy King o el bola de cañón texano (The Texas Cannonball), (nacido el 3 de septiembre de 1934 y murió el 28 de diciembre de 1976), fue un guitarrista negro que tuvo mucha influencia en todos los rockeros de los años 70s y 80s. Perfeccionó un estilo muy personal de tocar la guitarra basado en influencias de Texas y de Chicago fue uno de lo primeros músicos en tener una banda multi-racial en sus presentaciones en vivo. 

Es también conocido por sus grabaciones como "Have You Ever Loved A Woman" (1960) y su exito de los top 40 "Hide Away" (1961), y discos como Let's Hideaway and dance (1961) y Burglar (1974). Es el que les presento en esta ocasión, es un disco muy bien grabado y se nota la mano del master Freddie, canta y toca muy chido, lástima que murió tan jóven, bueno ahí se los dejo  @256 HQmp3 VBR...

Freddie King - Texas Cannonball

Frederick Christian King (3 de septiembre de 1934 - 28 de diciembre de 1976), también conocido como Freddie King y “The Texas Cannonball" (La bola de cañón de Texas), fue un influyente guitarrista y cantante afroamericano de blues.

Su madre y tío comenzaron a enseñarle a tocar la guitarra a los seis años de edad. En 1950, su familia y él emigraron de Texas al lado sur de Chicago. En 1952 se casó con Jessie Burnett.

Freddie perfeccionó su propio estilo de tocar la guitarra basado en las influencias del blues de Texas y Chicago y fue el primer músico de blues en tener una banda multirracial. Aunque fue muy conocido por grabaciones como "Have You Ever Loved A Woman" (1960) y su éxito ubicado en los Top 40 , "Hide Away" (1961), el cual primero fue grabado con Will Aiken. También se le conoce por álbumse como, Let's Hide Away and Dance Away with Freddy King (1961) y Burglar (1974).

King tuvo veinte años de carrera de grabación y llegó a ser un influyente guitarrista. Inspiró a muchos músicos británicos de los 60 que revitalizaron el blues, como Eric Clapton, Chicken Shack y Peter Green, y a músicos estadounidenses como Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughan, Bill Freeman y denny Campbell.

King murió de uno fallo cardíaco el 28 de diciembre de 1976, a la edad de 42 años. Un testimonio de la presencia de King en el circuito de las bandas de rock estadounidenses se encuentra en la canción "We're an American Band" de Grand Funk Railroad, escrita por Don Brewer y que se basa en un incidente ocurrido a King en una gira.
