Mahavishnu Orchestra - Birds of Fire

Birds of Fire is Mahavishnu Orchestra's second album. It was released in the first half of 1973 and is the last studio album by the original Mahavishnu Orchestra line-up, before the group dissolved, although Between Nothingness and Eternity, a live album, was recorded and released later that same year.
As in the case of The Mahavishnu Orchestra's previous album, The Inner Mounting Flame, Birds of Fire consists solely of compositions by John McLaughlin. This includes the track "Miles Beyond (Miles Davis)", which McLaughlin dedicated to his friend and former bandleader.
The back cover of the LP features a poem entitled "Revelation" by Sri Chinmoy. A remastered version of the album, on CD, was released in 2000 by Sony Music Entertainment. It features a facsimile of the LP cover and a new set of liner notes by Bill Milkowski, as well as photographs of the band.


Este es el segundo y último disco de la primera alineación de la Mahavishnu Orchestra y fue lanzado a principios de 1973, esto antes de que el grupo se disolviera, pero el disco "Between Nothingness and Eternity" en vivo, fue grabado y lanzado mas tarde ese mismo año.
Como en su primer disco "The Inner Mounting Flame", Birds of Fire consiste en solamente en composiciones de John McLaughlin. Este incluye el track "Miles Beyond" (Miles Davis), el cual está dedicado a su amigo y antiguo compañero de banda Miles Davis.
Al reverso del LP trae un poema titulado "Revelation" de Sri Chinmov. El disco re-lanzado en el 2000 por Sony. Es un facsimile del disco original, con sus notas originales y las fotos de la banda. Un disco excepcional, de rock fusión.

Solo hay que ver la alineación para saber que es un disco especial, cuando juntas a "genios" el resultado es espectacular, a rockanrolear.
