Live at Winterland '68 es un disco de Janis Joplin con la banda Big Brother and the Holding Company. Fue grabado en el Winterland Ballroom el 12 de abril de 1968, y el 13 de abril de 1968. Incluye una serie de canciones que vienen en sus discos de estudio. Las únicas dos rolas que irían en su siguiente disco de estudio "Cheap Thrills" son Ball and Chain, Piece of my Heart, Summertime, I Need a Man to Love, y Combination of the Two. La grabación de Ball and Chain icluída en el LP Cheap Thrills, es de hecho una versión editada de la grabación original contenida en ese Live at Winterland '68.

Es un disco que hasta el día de hoy se oye fresco, y escuchar la voz de Janis, pues no tiene igual, no ha salido otra cantante desde los 60s, que le llegue ni remotamente, y ha habido bastantes cantantes buenas, tenemos a Tina Turner, a Lydia Pense de Cold Blood, etc, pero Janis es algo fuera de serie. Live at Winterland '68 is an album by Janis Joplin with her band Big Brother and The Holding Company. It was recorded at the Winterland Ballroom on April 12, 1968, and April 13, 1968. It includes a selection of tracks from their studio albums. The only songs from this album to make it onto their next album Cheap Thrills were "Ball and Chain", "Piece of My Heart", "Summertime", "I Need a Man to Love", and "Combination of the Two". The recording of "Ball and Chain" included on Cheap Thrills is in fact an edited version of the recording contained on Live at Winterland '68.
