If era una banda de rock progresivo formada en Gran Bretaña en el año de 1969. El Billboard se refería a ella como la mejor banda de jazz-rock, de esa epoca, de el período de 1970 a 1975, produjeron 8 discos de estudio y hicieron 17 giras por Europa, Estados Unidos y Canada. 

If 2 es el segundo album de esta banda, fue lanzado en 1970 y re-editado como CD en 2006 en Repertoire Records con notas del crítico de musica inglés Chris Welch.

Este disco saca por primera vez los moduladores Innovex Reed sound modulators para los saxofones.

Referred to by Billboard as "unquestionably the best of the so-called jazz-rock bands", in the period spanning 1970-1975, they produced 8 studio-recorded albums and did some 17 tours of Europe, the US and Canada.

If 2 is the second release by the English Jazz rock band If. It was released as a vinyl LP in 1970 and re-issued as a CD in 2006 on Repertoire Records with liner notes by UK music critic Chris Welch.

The album features the early use of Innovex Reed Sound Modulators for the saxophones.
