El gran salto del album BENEFIT de 1970 al siguiente disco AQUALUNG es uno de los mas increíbles en la historia del rock. En el espacio de un disco a otro, Jethro Tull fue de un rock no muy complicado medio folk-rock no muy electrico, a un album conceptual con letras y composiciones excelentes. Y todavía faltaba algo mas con su siguiente album THICK AS A BRICK, de una sola canción de 40 minutos. En esta entrega habla de la hipocresia de la cristiandad de Inglaterra, pero mas que eso yo creo que la música hace de este disco la obra maestra de Ian Anderson (lider de la banda), es un tipo excentrico músico excelente y realmente, él es Jethro Tull. Este disco es una versión japonesa con su excelente sonido, que lo disfruten, estas réplicas son bastante caras.
The leap from 1970's BENEFIT to the following year's AQUALUNG is one of the most astonishing progressions in rock history. In the space of one album, Tull went from relatively unassuming electrified folk-rock to larger-than-life conceptual rock full of sophisticated compositions and complex, intellectual lyrical constructs. While the leap to full-blown prog-rock wouldn't be taken until a year later on THICK AS A BRICK, the degree to which Tull upped the ante here is remarkable. The lyrical concept--the hypocrisy of Christianity in England--is stronger than on most other '70s conceptual efforts, but it is ultimately the music that makes the album.
