Jimi Plays Monterey es
un disco postumo en vivo de Jimi Hendrix, lanzado en febrero de 1986.
Este disco documenta al The Jimi Hendrix Experience tocando en el
Monterey Pop Festival en junio de 18 de 1967. Contiene canciones de su
disco debut "Are You Experienced, Monterey también incluye los covers de
"Killing Floor" (Howlin' Wolf), "Like a Rolling Stone" (Bob Dylan),
"Rock Me Baby" (B.B. King) y "Wild Thing (Chip Taylor). La versión de
Wild Thing es una de las más memorables presentaciones en vivo, es un

The version of "Wild Thing" on the album is one of the most notable
live performances ever, as, in an iconic moment in rock history, he sets
his guitar alight after the song and then smashes it.
